 Whats New!

As part of the class of 1973's 2008 reunion, the school conducted a tour of AV High School. It started with a meeting in the library, moved to the Ballard Music Building then past the newly rebuilt Mays Field, finally winding past the south campus by the cemetary and back to the library.

Points of Interest:

Almost all book lockers were removed from the campus in the early 1990s.
Mays Field was rebuilt and re-dedicated on September 11, 2008
After the school was rebuilt in the late 1950s, the pool was filled in and the Gazebo built on top of it
The Gazebo was removed sometime in the early 1980s and replaced with parts of the closed annex classrooms
In 1983, The City of Lancaster and the AVUHSD built a new indoor swimming pool for the AV Highschool swim    team. The Eastside Pool is located one block east of the Highschool on Kettering and 5th Street.
The senior lawn, south of the gazebo and west of the girls (or "small") gym was also a victim of the Gazebo    removal  and mobile classroom relocation
Additional mobile classrooms were added to the south end of the student parking lot
The schools marquee was replaced sometime in 2003 with an electronic marquee and moved closer to the    administration building
The sun dial, which first stood in front of Central Hall and then in front of the AV High School Library, was    damaged several years ago and now sits in a transparent protective container in front of the library.
